Agree. The standard .270 cannot fire the .270 WSM, and vice versa.
Definitely Not !!
At least a half mile.
Not as it comes from the factory. It is offered in 7 different calibers- the .270 Short Magnum is not one of those.

To find a bolt for a 270 model 770 engine, you can do so by looking at junkyards. It is possible that the parts may not be found online, or through manufacturers.

Your winchester model 770 was made by winchester between 1969-1971.
your 770 is worth about $250..00 to $300.00 hope this helps
Probably because Winchester never made such a model. You either have a Model 70, or a foreign counterfeit. If it is a Model 70, though, and somehow got double-struck as 770 at the factory, it might generate some collector interest. Winchester most certainly "DID" make a model 770. It was only built between 1969-1971. It was a "cheapened down" version of the Mod. 70. There was a Standard version (22" barrel) and a Magnum version (24" barrel). These had a checkered Monte Carlo-style stock and open sights. All had a blind box magazine, no floorplate. The Model 770 would definitely be considered a post-'64 Winchester design. I have had it since 1972. Highly accurate. Less then an inch at one hundred yards with 150 gr. slugs. It was made in the U.S.A..
