Only if you get an NFA Class II permit for it.
A sawed off shotgun is illegal depending on how much of it is cut off. It is illegal to own one less than 18 inches for the barrel or 28 inches for the gun.
You can own a short barrelled shotgun anywhere. The question is, do you have a license for an AOW (any other weapon) or a Class 3 license. That is the only way to own a short barrelled shotgun. To be termed a short barrelled shotgun, the barrel length has to be less than 18 inches when measured from the chamber (on a closed bolt) to the end of the muzzle. Washington Will NOT allow a Shot Barreled Shotgun they Are reguired to be Destroyed the gun if a Police agency Takes control on the Gun look up Washington Wacs. Best thing to do is detroy the Short Barrel and look for a Legal Lenght Barrel to replace it. Try a gunbroker or online.
Answer Felony under federal law.. At least 1 yr or more in prison, unless deal is made with prosecution. (BTW, a sawed off shotgun does nothing for shooting the gun. It only provides better concealment) Actually, that answer is only partially correct. First, you can have a shotgun with a sawed off barrel in any state if the barrel is still more than 18 inches long and the overall length of the shotgun is 26 inches. Second, if you saw of the barrel to less than 18 inches or the overall length to less than 26 inches, it becomes a class III or NFA weapon. Those are legal to own in 38 or 39 states. You must apply to the ATF for approval and pay a tax fee. If you do this without ATF approval, that's when it is a felony. Third, sawing the barrel off does in fact change the way the gun shoots. Generally speaking it will make the recoil heavier because the gun will be lighter, and it creates a wider shot pattern for buckshot or birdshot.
I believe a little less than 2 grand. I own one myself and believe that to be the value.
You have to be 18 years old, to legally own a shotgun.
According to the BATF you can own a "Short-Barreled Shotgun". You must either: (1) By transfer after approval by ATF of a registered weapon from its lawful owner residing in the same State as the transferee. (2) By obtaining prior approval from ATF to make NFA firearms. [27 CFR 479.62-66 and 479.84-86 ] A $200 tax stamp must be paid to the BATF NFA division. All info from the BATF website.
A desert is defined as a region that receives less than 10 inches (250 mm) of precipitation on average per year. Some deserts receive virtually no rainfall for decades.
The short answer is, the barrel must be at least 18 inches, and the overall length must be at least 26 inches. The longer answer is, a shotgun can be any length, but if it is shorter than I just described, you apply to the ATF, pay a fee, then wait to be approved in order to own it. It normally takes several months to be approved, and the fee is $200. This is all federal law. TN has no laws that make any of that illegal.
Every desert has its own weather statistics. However, a desert is defined as a region that receives less than 10 inches of precipitation per year on average. Some deserts receive virtually no rainfall.
It depends. If it is a foot thick, definitely. but if the steel is only a few inches or less than an inch, it isn't. steel isn't strong enough on it's own to be bulletproof.
I assume you mean in the United States in which case no*, but they are regulated as AOWs. *this varies by state some have additional laws that may change this answer They are legal to a certain extent. The barrel of the gun can be no less than 18 inches long from the tip to the end of the chamber or the over all length from the tip of barrel to the end of the stock. To have one shorter you must first get a special license from the ATF along with a background check. At least that is what I got out of everywhere I looked. Actually, both answers are only partially correct. A shotgun with a short barrel is only AOW (any other weapon) if it has no stock. If it is a short barrel shotgun with a regular shoulder stock, it is a SBS (short barrel shotgun). You do not apply for a special license. That is an urban legend. Short shotguns, short rifles, machine guns, and silencers are legal in 38 or 39 states. When you purchase the item, you must pay a $200 tax, not apply for any special license. You pay a one-time tax on each item, so if you buy two silencers, you pay $200 twice. A few items are AOW. The most common one is, as stated above, a short barrelled shotgun with no stock. That tax fee is only $5.00.
In the UK you need a licence to own a shotgun,
