Are you talking 2 3/4" magnum shells, or 3" mag shells? Do not put a 3"chamber barrel on a standard receiver. Do not try to load 3" shells in a Light 12. A browning Light twelve can handle the heaviest 2 3/4" loads available. Remember to set the friction ring assembly for "Heavy Loads".
Not desgined to shoot the 22 WMR
Magnums usually shoot faster. Hence the term Magnum
Needs to be examined by a good gunsmith
If the barrel says"2 3/4 inch shells", don't shoot 3 inch magnums. You might get away with it for several hundred shells, or you may crack the stock or forearm with the next shell you fire. If you want a magnum, go buy one, and save the Auto 5 for pheasants quail, and rabbits.
Yes they did. I have one. It is a jap made light 12 but they did make one. It is a quail killer. Perfect for the woods and a joy to shoot.
