I have a marlin 55 12 Ga and Im wondering if it shoots 3" and 3 3/4" shells and if steel shots are recommended for the barrel?
YES IF ITS MARKED 3 INCH, THEY NEVER MADE BLACK POWDER SHELLS IN 3 INCH FOR 12 GA GUNS.
You need to have it examined by a gunsmith
Around $350-$400, a little more if it is the single-trigger version.
A 12 gauge shotgun cannot fire 20 gauge shells.
No, you can not shoot anything but 12 gauge shotgun shells through a 12 gauge shotgun. Never use any ammunition other than what the firearm was designed for.
Only if it is chambered for them. Have it examined by a good gunsmith
Definately not. I can't think of any offhand that can, but if it is not marked on the barrel then it cannot shoot them.
You could eaither shoot dove with a 20 gauge shotgun or a 12 gauge shotgun. You should also use a bird shot shells
Yes. A 3-1/2" chamber will accept 2-3/4" & 3" & 3-1/2 shells
I'm not 100% positive. I do know it has to be chambered for such. My M-12 shoots 2-3/4.
Yes, you can shoot 2 1/2,2 3/4, and 3 inch shot gun shell in that barrel.
NO. 3 1/2 shells are fairly new and only to be shot through rifles rated for it. If it doesn't say it on the barrel, DON'T DO IT!
