Depends on what info you seek. Is it stolen? You do not have access to that data base unless you are a law enforcement officer. Most police departments will run the number through the NCIC system if you ask, but they will want to have the gun at hand. Who has owned that gun? In almost every case, there are no records of that. When was it made? In SOME cases, the year of manufacture can be established. So- what are you looking to find?
