Where can you find age of model 100 Winchester rifle?

The Winchester model 100 was shipped fromt he factory during the 1961-1975 time frame. It was originally offered in .243 and .308. with a 22" barrel and .264 with a 19" barrel. 308 and 243 could also be had in the 19" barrel. It has a once piece stock and had the same two checkering patterns as the Model 88. One was a point pattern done by hand up to 1964. The other was a basket weave impressed design used after 1964 to reduce cost. The carbine stock had no checkering. The stock has a metal pistol grip cap and most have a red "W" on a circular plate glued to the metal grip cap. The stock came with Winchester's sling swivels of that era. They are permanently attached. The detachable box magazine holds 4 cartridges in .243, .308 and and 3 in .284. The safety is a "push button" type located in front of the trigger guard. Proofhouse.com has a serial number list for Winchester.
