Many of the early rifles prior to 1910ish didn't have models.
For example early model 12 (pumps) no 2, 4, and 6 rolling blocks. Good description with measurements, patents, helps a lot.

the early 500 series Remington 22 cal rifles did not have a serial number. I believe serial numbers were required after 1968
