You would need to be more specific for me to answer, it would depend on the maker and model of the gun. The number could range from 1 to as much as 10.

They are properly called cartridges, or shotshells (not bullets)- and the answer depends on which shotgun. Some hold 1 shell, some 2, 3 or (rarely) as many as 14. A standard pump shotgun can hold 5 shotshells, but most hunting regulations do not allow more than 3.
Doesn't hold "bullets" ... rather holds "cartridges", and most shotguns have two barrels, so it would hold two cartridges. don't they call shotgun ammo shells. and i think it depends on what type of shotgun it is that would dictate how many shells it holds? like: pump action 5-8 shells bolt action 2-3 shells semi hunting 4-8 semi tactical 6-20 and of course single shots.
How many bullets can a 9mm baretta hold
Shotguns neither fire bullets, nor do they use clips. The capacity for each shotgun will vary by model, load, and magazine. A Remington 870 off-the-shelf holds five rounds. The Saiga shotgun uses a detachable box magazine which may hold anywhere from five to 30 shotgun shells.
It can hold 10 bullets amd it's semi-automatic.
