Pistol barrels range from 2" to 12", and almost every increment in between. Longer barrels increase accuracy, shorter barrels make for more compactness.
Which pistol? Most production pistols have a barrel length of 1 to 8 inches.

A 35 MM bullet would be about 1 2/3 inches in diameter. There is no such pistol ammunition. If you can give a good description of your pistol, I might be able to identify it and suggest the proper ammunition.
No one length. I have hunted with a .22 pistol that is about 12 inches long, and a pump shotgun that is about 50 inches long.
I assume you mean "In current or recent production" My guess, for a BB gun, would be the Walther PPK/s. It's 6.1" For a pellet pistol, there are too many that are the same size to list here. But most start around 7.1 plus inches in length.
