Yes- Buckshot, birdshot, or slugs.
looking for original, post in the assra(american single shot rifle association), if you want new reproductions you can try MVA(Montana Vintage Arms). Also another good source is Paul Shuttleworth of CPA, when it comes to Stevens single shots, he is the man.

I have a Stevens Model 940E,it has a 410 sleave in the gun . It is able to shot 410 as will as it shots 12 gauge when the 410 sleave is taken out. I've had a few guys look at it, they all say they had not seen one before. Is the sleave made for this gun by stevens? ,,
a pattern
With the selector switch set to semiauto, the rifle fires one shot per pull of the trigger. This is in contrast to "burst" mode, where the rifle fires several shots per pull (usually 3) or "Full Auto", where the rifle fires until trigger is released.
Need to identify the exact model. Being chambered for a 32-40 cartridge, I suspect it may be one of the Schuetzen models 45 to 54 which are higher grade target rifles and not valued in the standard references except to say they bring much higher prices than the more ordinary Stevens Ideal single shots.
