Don't be afraid to get online and find all the local gun dealers and call for prices. Even with the high gas prices these days, sometimes you can save a few hundred bucks by driving an hour or so. The only other advice I have is to wait and save up for a gun show to come around or if you or someone you know is in the military try the BX,PX,etc because there's no tax and that's pretty good when you're paying several hundred or several thousand.
