There are a couple places to buy old antique Swiss Army Knives. Some examples include auction business such as eBay, Live Autioneers and Antiques Spotlight.
I would have to say Swiss Army is s great choice. The traditional Schrade Old Timer pocket knives have been around a long time too.
"The age a young boy receives his first pocket knife is typically decided by the boy's primary guardian, who often decides if the child is mature enough to have his first knife. This age is often between 9-11 years old, according to most studies."
18 even for a Swiss army knife but while almost all other states knife laws are nearly 2 pages ,loisianas knife law is a simple as thing with exception of jack knifes and switch blades or spring blades, a 3 year old can walk through town with a sword.(excludes federal law).
The legal age to buy a Swiss army knife is 18+
My collection of old Swiss Army knives is extensive.
It depends on how old you are. If your in highschool and its a Swiss army knife and you are not flashing it around like you own the place then im sure you will be fine. just don't get caught. but if your younger than that and bring rambo's survival knife and start taunting people with it yea. you're going to jail. I'll start calling you bubba.</
Victorinox offers a lubrication agent which is probably most ideal as they are very trustworthy and a producer of the Swiss Army Knife. I recently found my Victorinox Explorer in an old tool box. It was fine for a few day but the main blade began to open and close with almost a grind. Without any proper knife lubrication product I took the advise of a couple people on youtube. I soaked it in 70% isopropryl alcohol for 30 minutes and then applied a generous amount of WD40. It now opens and closes better than ever, but this method is not recomended if you use the knife for food preparation as you will ingest toxic chemicals. I am waiting to purchase Victorinox lubricating oil to finish the job. There are mixed opinions on using cooking oil on the knife but with a life-time warranty I am willing to experiment.
