Springfields are made in various countrys. Brazil, Hungary, Croatia, and the U.S. All springfield xds are made in Croatia. It would be nice if they were made in USA but sadly not many are today

The factory has said..."WE HAVE NO INTENTION OF GOING THROUGH THE MASSACHUSETTS CERTIFICATION PROCESS because the laws and regulations are not clear". Update 10/16/2009: We have heard that rumors that Springfield Armory is interested in getting some of their handguns certified for sale in MA. I hope that do but I've heard this before and nothing has ever happened. The process is not that hard. S&W certifies handguns for MA all the time...(Taken from four seasons firearms webpage)
