If you attempted to fend off a fully grown bear with a .357 Magnum, you would stand a pretty good chance of that bear's next bowel movement being your final epitaph. The notion of using a pistol to fend off a bear attack is ridiculous to begin with, but, if you're going to try it, you need something with a bit more punch - you'd find the .454 Casull or .500 S&W Magnum much more adequate for the task. You could probbably even get a kill with a .38 (if it was a good shot). I would't use a .357 on grizzly or kodiack but black bear...yes.

right to bear arms...
You are highly unlikely to even get it to chamber because 9mm is a rimless pistol round and there is no rim to keep it from sliding straight out of the cylinder.
A woman is capable of killing a bear if she fired a gun, a crossbow or a bow-and-arrow from a distance best for hunting bears and has good shooting skills. A woman can also kill a bear with a sharp knife at a point when the bear did not see her.
A gun of a human
i have had one for 15 years... good gun low maintenance, not a long distance sniper or nothing like that. Just a good saddle gun, protection against for example a charging bear or cougar and home protection
No, a pellet gun can't kill a bear it will only make it angry. There for it will eaither attack you or just ignore it.
