It depends on what you mean by "rare". There weren't millions of them sold and they have no value as collector's items. On the other hand, they are extremely high quality and very accurate rifles. Because of the Sears association they sell for far less than they would if they were sold under the name of the FN factory that made the receivers.
So buy it if you need a good rifle and you will be very pleased. BTW, the 583.93 is a model code for a 270 made in 1951, not a serial number.

Unfortunetly not. A functional gun in decent shape brings about $150-200.
Fender started using serial numbers in the early 1950s. Pre-serial guitars are extremely rare. Later model guitars that have no serial may have had the neck replaced.
no this is a rare rifle. I believe they were mgf 1988 - 1995
It is unusual vs. rare
583 11 made by H&R 1946 JC Higgins /High Standard in very good its worth 100 bucks maybe more as the pre model 10s are rare
The value of a JC Higgins air rifle, model 79919200, can vary significantly based on its condition, age, and market demand. Generally, these rifles can range from $50 to $150, but rare or well-preserved models may fetch higher prices. For an accurate valuation, consider checking online marketplaces, gun auctions, or consulting a firearms appraiser.
If the vendor code starts with 101 it was made by savage arms a model 94 Stevens shotgun common as dirt but a good old gun
your shotgun was made for High Standard /Sears Roebuck by Harrington & Richardson in 1945 It first appeared in the spring Sears catalog 1946 .Your gun is gun is what is known as as a pre model 10 thes guns are very scarce and the few JC Higgins collectors out there pay highly for ones in good shape Its basicly a H&R model 120 Sears bought the rights to manufacture these guns in 1946. In 1948/49 High Standard took over manufacture of these guns and they became Known as the J C Higgins model 10. .The early ones like yours are quite rare..They are excellent shotguns
While these are good guns they are not rare or terribly valuable. Figure on roughly $500 and you'll be in the ballpark.
A Ted Williams model 3t serial number r352606 is a priceless item. It is a rare antique rifle that cannot be found anywhere. Depending on the buyer it may be worth a lot.
Every serial number is as rare as the next, because every note has a different one.
contact either s&w with the serial number or antiqueguns.com but what ever you do hold on to it, it's kinda rare.
