ANS 2 Yes, it's a good, accurate way of hand-cutting large bolts. Having said that, I usually find that method very time consuming and for some years now I've cut large bolts with a small electric angle grinder fitted with a 5" steel cutting disc. - a LOT easier, but takes practice at first.

A hacksaw is a hand tool used for cutting metal. It is composed of a frame with a handle and a removable blade with very fine teeth.
The pitch of a hacksaw blade refers to the distance between the teeth on the blade, typically measured in teeth per inch (TPI). Common pitches for hacksaw blades range from 14 TPI for cutting metal to 32 TPI for cutting thinner materials or plastics. A finer pitch (higher TPI) is used for smoother cuts, while a coarser pitch (lower TPI) is better for quicker, rough cuts. Choosing the right pitch is essential for achieving optimal cutting performance based on the material being cut.
Hacksaw blades are made with different sized teeth to accommodate various materials and cutting tasks. Larger teeth are designed for faster cuts in softer materials, while smaller teeth provide more precision and control for cutting harder materials or intricate shapes. This variety allows users to select the most suitable blade for their specific cutting needs, improving efficiency and the quality of the cut.

A hacksaw is a metal frame that holds an adjustable and disposable blade for cutting metals. Blades are usually 12" long and 1/2 wide with a range of teeth for cutting different metals.

A hacksaw is a tool used for cutting through metal, plastic, and other materials. It typically makes straight cuts and is commonly used for cutting pipes, rods, and small metal pieces.
That's a typical hacksaw count, suitable for cutting metals and hard plastics. It will also cut wood, but rather slowly and not in big pieces.
A hacksaw is used to cut metals. The blades are easily changeable and come in many tooth sizes. Very hard metals like tool steel need many small teeth, so here you would fit a very hard 32 or 36 tpi blade (teeth per inch). Softer metals can be cut with cheaper blades with teeth of about 12 -16 per inch.
