It depends on what is wrong with it, but the repairs may cost more than the rifle is worth
Your talking about an air rifle that in pristine condition is only worth $60. If it was made before 1983 it's worth $90, but it has to be in like NEW condition and your needs repair. There is almost no collectors value. Personally I would take the $90 dollars and purchase a new PELLET rifle. It would be more cost effective.
But that's my opinion and I collect working air guns and yes I have a working American classic model 2100 the new version of the 766 and it cost less than $60 brand new.

If you mean the motor is burnt then the answer is no. It is not cost effective.
It would be more cost effective to replace the brake caliper. If you repair the brake caliper it will cost you more in the long run.

You have 3 choices. 1. The 760 is an inexpensive air rifle and might not be worth repairing. It may be cheaper to purchase a new one. 2. Crosman offers a service to locate repair shops that service Crosman products. But it may cost more than a new rifle. (see the 1. link below) 3. Repair it yourself. Crosman still has parts for this rifle, But there are 10 different models of this rifle. So you have to determine which one is yours. Down load the parts manual first and locate your part number ( See the 2. Parts manual Crosman link below.) then contact Crosman and order the part (see the 3. link below)
