Value is too difficult to be accurate without seeing the gun. Condition which includes the amount of original finish and original configuration will determine value. Auto 5's with poly-chokes, compensators and recoil pads (other than Mag 12's) will reduce value. Near mint guns and original box will command an extra premium. Recommend taking it to a gun shop for appraisal.

Your browning auto-5 shotgun was made by FN of belguim for browning in 1931.Most auto-5 shotguns from this era are selling for between 550-650 dollars in my region of the country(Michigan).
If your shotgun has good wood and blueing, then the Winchester model 12 shotgun will bring between 275-450 dollars on today,s market. The gauge of the shotgun helps also with the 12 gauge being the most prevalant, and the 16 gauge and 20 gauge being produced a lot less, hence more value.
Check the auction sites to see what they are bringing. If you have the box, manual, papers for rifle and scope you will add 50-100 to the value.
