Meaning that at least the maker wants you to believe that the piece of jewelry that you are looking atis made of an alloy that is 14 parts pure gold to 10 parts that will be a mix of copper and silver. Precisely 58.3 % pure gold. It doesn't mean it is though. A person can mark a piece of jewelry as gold when it is not for a nimber of very obvious reasons. You have to know how to test or get it tested to know for certain.
