To replace the firing pin on a Savage 745C shotgun, first ensure the shotgun is unloaded and safe. Disassemble the shotgun by removing the stock and any other components necessary to access the bolt assembly. Locate the firing pin, carefully remove any retaining pins or screws, and then extract the old firing pin. Insert the new firing pin, reassemble the bolt, and ensure everything is securely fastened before reattaching the stock. Always consult the manufacturer's manual for specific instructions and safety precautions.
The shotgun is worth $150-$250, depending on condition. If the case is in good shape, it could be worth nearly as much.
Assuming it is a 12 gauge, fully functional, showing normal use, it would be worth about $200-250 retail.
