A fixed choke is a choke that can not be removed or changed.
If it has choke tubes, yes. If it is fixed choke, no. I called Browning about mine and that was the answer they gave me.
Stevens 107b is a fixed cylinder bore. So in other words, no choke and not able to be choked.
'*' designates full choke (F). '*-' designates improved modified choke (IM). '**' designates modified choke (M). '**-' designates improved cylinder choke (IC). '**$' designates skeet (SK). '***' designates cylinder bore (CYL).
The fixed choke markings are denoted by * marks on the bottom of the barrel under the forearm assembly. 3 on the left barrel and 4 on the right. *** Modified choke **** Improved Cylinder
A fixed-choke carburetor is a type of carburetor that has a choke valve that is set at a specific position and cannot be adjusted. This design simplifies the carburetor's operation by providing a consistent air-fuel mixture for the engine under various operating conditions. Fixed-choke carburetors are commonly found in smaller engines, such as those in lawn mowers and some motorcycles, where ease of use and reliability are prioritized over fine-tuning performance. Their simplicity makes them less prone to malfunction but limits their adaptability to varying loads and conditions.
The fixed choke on a Remington 870 refers to the constriction of the shotgun's barrel that determines the spread of the shot as it exits. Unlike interchangeable chokes, a fixed choke is permanently set at a specific constriction, such as improved cylinder, modified, or full. This design influences the shotgun's effective range and pattern density, making it suited for particular types of shooting, such as hunting or clay shooting. Fixed chokes are typically found on older models or specific versions of the Remington 870.
Look on the rear left side of the barrel.F=Full,M=modified,IC=improved cylinder,C=cylinder etc.
No way to tell without more of a description.
NOT RECOMMENDED unless you are in a life or death situation.
The Invector Choke system was first introduced in 1983 and only available on Citori, BPS, and BT-99 models. Fixed choke barrels were still available as well. Please note that the Citori Lightning model wasn't introduced until 1988. All Citori Lightning models in 12, 16, and 20ga. were only available with the invector choke system (and still are). 28ga Lightning Citori's were still fixed choke only.
You probably have an alternator with bad diodesl have it checked, it is probably going out. Get that fixed first then see if the choke light goes out too.
As long as the owner's manual doesn't prohibit it.
