50-300 depending on specifics
It should be marked on the gun- something like .410/ 45 Colt.
Almost certainly NOT an antique. Made by Leinad Inc. in Ducktown, TN. They also made a side by side .410/.45 derringer. I have one and it is very impressive to shoot.
"Best" is a subjective term that means different things to different people. Are you talking about a revolver, semi-auto, single shot, full size, micro, mid, derringer, etc...

Given proper shot placement, none.
45 cal. Long Colt (.45LC) rounds like those used in a 45 cal. revolver. Many of this type of Derringer also can fire .410 gauge shotgun shells. Do a search for your specific model and get the manufacturers recommendations for ammunition.
A .45 caliber derringer typically shoots .45 ACP (Automatic Colt Pistol) or .45 Colt cartridges, depending on the specific model. The .45 ACP is a rimless cartridge commonly used in semi-automatic handguns, while the .45 Colt is a rimmed cartridge originally designed for revolvers. It's important to check the specific derringer model, as some may be chambered for only one type. Always refer to the manufacturer's specifications for accurate information.
How much is a old black powder only 45 cal long barrel pistol worth?
