If by "handgun" you mean it has a pistol grip and a barrel less than 18 inches long, read the related question link below. If the gun was originally manufactured like that, it was made between 1920 and 1933. If you also have the proper BATF registration papers, it is worth $100-$500, depending on the exact model and condition. If it was modified by cutting the shoulder stock and barrel off of a shotgun, it is illegal no matter when it was made or modified. But if you refer to it as a handgun because one person holds it in his hands (not a crew-operated weapon like a cannon or howitzer), and has a shoulder stock and longer barrel, it was made between 1920 and about 1950 and is worth $50 to $500 depending on the exact model and condition.
The Model 335 was made from 1912 to 1931. I know of no serial number breakdown by year. sales@countrygunsmith.net
It was made sometime between 1920 and 1942.
About mid 1930s
All my records indicate that stevens did not make a model 337 shotgun. If your stevens shotgun is marked U337 under the receiver, this would be a serial number, not a model number.
No
if made 1968 or before it wasn't required to have one if it does it will be clearly marked on the barrel
There is absolutely no way to answer this without seeing the gun, however, if you look carefully at the markings on the barrel it is probably marked there.
If made before midnight, December 31, 1968, it will not have a serial number. If made later, it will be clearly marked on the receiver.
by law any handgun that has had the serial number removed is an illegal pistol. good for parts
No
Without a detailed description of the handgun, nothing.
