Knows as the 'Crass Model' after designer Frederick Crass. The Crass Model was only made from 1888 to 1901. Yours would be c.1895. Need to know which grade. Remove the barrel set and look on the water table. These guns were marked with the gauge and the grade from 1 to 7 (and 1P). Depending on grade and condition, $200 to $1000. sales@countrygunsmith.net
Ithaca SN 68814 was manufactured in 1902 according to Ithaca Gun Company records compiled and released in 1960. It is a Lewis model if hammerless and New Ithaca Gun if it has hammers.
With the serial number that you provided, your Ithaca double barrel shotgun with the damascus barrels was produced in the year 1900.
It is only worth what the person buys it for...

this is a Lewis model made between 1905 1910.
To determine the age of an Ithaca Damascus double barrel shotgun with the serial number 4129, you would typically need to reference specific production records or a serial number chart for Ithaca firearms. Generally, Ithaca shotguns were produced in the late 19th to early 20th century, so a shotgun with that serial number could likely date back to around the 1880s or 1890s. For precise dating, consulting a firearms expert or historian familiar with Ithaca shotguns is recommended.
I am not sure about the age or value, but I would sure like to own it to rabbit hunt with.
If the shotgun is a hammerless double, it is a Baker Model produced in 1899 (per Dixie Gun Works, Ithaca Serialization Guide) That serial should be a 1926 production NID. sales@countrygunsmith.net
This should be a Lewis model, made in 1902.
Look again! The guage and grade are usually found together on the water table, and a Grade 5 (not "S") would be a highe end, and probably valuable, gun.
The guage and grade of an Ithaca Hammerless can generally be found on the left front corner of the water table on the frame. The serial number is usually on the right side of the same water table, on the barrel flats, and on the forend iron. To determine which design you have, check http://www.shotgunworld.com/identify.html
