This model was manufactured from 1937 to 1981. If it has no serial number, it was made before 1968. Value would be $125 or less, depending on it's condition. What history do you want? All you can possibly get is what you and any previous owners can tell you. It was probably bought to keep the fox out of the hen house and did an admirable job. To remove the bolt you simply pull the trigger. value is relevent to supply and demand. i need your clip. my demand is high and supply is low. i will give you $50 for the clip and pay shipping and handling if you still have it and you live in the US contact me at www.myspace.com/mikedubosesc
hire it done.
That shotgun was made for Sears by Savage/Stevens and is basically the Stevens 59A bolt-action. Remove the takedown screw from the bottom of the stock and separate the metal from the wood. Remove the bolt stop screw from the left side of the receiver and remove the bolt rearward. We do not recommend any further disassembly.
only when you shoot it!
Remove buttplate. Use a socket extension and rachet to unscrew the stock bolt (it's in that hole in the center of the butt)
To remove the buttstock of a Stevens 311 shotgun, first ensure the shotgun is unloaded and safe. Use a screwdriver to remove the screws located at the rear of the receiver that secure the buttstock in place. Once the screws are removed, gently pull the buttstock away from the receiver to detach it. Be cautious to avoid damaging any components during the process.
Do you have the pump shotgun or the lever-action rifle?
AnswerTry pressing the safety down or inward while pulling the bolt rearwardMy 59A has an external screw/pin that must be removed, then the bolt will slide right out.
If the owner's manual doesn't have instructions, seek out a qualified gun smith.

Finally, push out the hammer pin and remove the hammer assembly to fully disassemble the shotgun for cleaning or maintenance. Remember to follow all safety precautions and consult the manufacturer's manual for detailed instructions.

Align the forearm with the barrel, reattach the barrel, and tighten the barrel nut securely to hold the forearm in place. Always double-check for proper fit and function after reassembly.
