It was made on 2/27/47. This is called an Roll Mark Date. I found it at http://www.histandard.info/models/private/Sears/SearsBolt.html I was given this model by my father and would like more info on it.That is right 2 27 47 however the gun was actually by Harrington & richardson arms .The gun is known as the J C higgins. model 10. Sears owned the rights to manufacture and also owned all of high Standards shotgun prodution till 1957 The sears model 10 has nothing to do with High standard they simply made the guns for Sears High standard never sold this perticular model The gun is a genuine Sears orfan. That being said The fact remains is that it was based one a very good design and despite its age it is still a very good gun indeed
