The 311 series was manufactured from 1941 to 1989. If made after 1968 it WILL have a serial number and if made earlier it MAY (but probably won't) have one. If it was manufactured between March 1949 and December 1968 it will have a circle around a number and letter stamped on the bottom between the triggerguard and the hinge pin. A thru N = 1949 thru 1962, P = 1963, and R thru V = 1964 thru 1968.
The Stevens model 311 was discontinued in the year 1989.You would have to contact Savage/Stevens to get the actual age of your double barrel shotgun.
Sometime between 1948 and 1991. Should be worth $200-$250 if it is fully functional but not 100% like new.
I also have a Stevens 311A Double Barrell, doubled triggered 12 gauge shotgun made by Savage Arms in very good condition and do not know the age or the value. My gun has a ribbed barrel, but the stock is not walnut. JT 1/19/08
Somewhere between 1942 - 1962. That's all i know so far, but there is a good chance it is actually built by Stevens, model 311a
"Your" Winchester Model 21 Double Barrel Shotgun was manufactured in 1933, giving it an age of 77 years, as of 2010.
1926-1935. sales@countrygunsmith.net
That G is the indicator of year of manufacture. A stands for 1949, so yours was made in 1955.
your savage model 311 double barrel is valued at between 130-275 dollars depending on condition. You can add 20% to those fiqures because it is a 20ga model.
