I have a Wards Western Field EJN-750 in .243, built on a Sako L57 action, number 3091. I purchased it new at the Montgomery Wards in Albany, NY in 1960. I believe it was manufactured in 1959 or 1960, but been unable to identify who manufactured it for Wards. There was another EJN-750 in .306 on the sale table, but I couldn't afford another $68 for it!

Will be valued more for it's use as a shooter rather than as a collectable Sako. Value would be in the $350-$450 range. sales@countrygunsmith.net
The Western Field 750 A in .30-06 caliber was manufactured by the J.C. Higgins brand, which was a private label used by the Sears, Roebuck and Company for firearms and sporting goods. The rifle itself was produced by a number of different manufacturers, including High Standard and Savage, depending on the specific model and production year. These firearms were popular in the mid-20th century for hunting and sport shooting.
The scope mount for the Remington Model 750 is regularly sold at GunBroker.com.
