It is a 22 Caliper Short, Long and Long Rifle Bolt Action Rifle, with a clip, that holds about 6 shells. From my understanding, it was based on the Mossberg Model 30, and made by Mossberg for Montgomery Wards. Made between 1933 and 1935.
A history of Mossberg has been written and is available on Amazon
