To determine the age of a Marlin 3030 30AW with serial number 12057784, you can refer to Marlin's manufacturing dates. Generally, Marlin's serial numbers from that era indicate it was produced around the late 1980s to early 1990s. For the most accurate dating, you may want to consult Marlin's official records or a dedicated firearms historian.

The "AW" in Marlin 30AW stands for "All Weather," indicating that this model is designed for durability and reliability in various weather conditions. It typically features a stainless steel construction and a synthetic stock, making it more resistant to moisture and wear. This makes the Marlin 30AW suitable for hunters and shooters who need a dependable firearm in challenging environments.
Your marlin should hold 5 plus one in the chamber.
Take the first two numbers of the serial number and subtract that from 2000. For example, 07 from 2000 would make your rifle manufactured in 1993.
I believe that the marlin model 30AW(all weather) stock was a walnut finished birch stock.
I, too, have been trying to find out about the Marlin 30-30 Model 30AW and I discovered that the Model 30AW is the low priced version of the Model 336. (Very disappointing to pay $400 for a gun to find out it is a "low priced version".) Anyway, here is a link to the owners manual I found: http://www.marlinfirearms.com/pdfs/manuals/MFC_Centerfire.pdf It appears to be the same gun that I purchased.
All that I can say is that the marlin model 336W/30AW were made during 1983-2007.Most of these were sold thru Wal-Mart.
