There is probably a difference in the age of the two guns. 30 WCF (Winchester Center Fire) was the original name for the 30-30 cartridge when it was introduced in 1894. When other companies started making rifles to use this cartridge they did not want to advertise Winchester on their guns so ammunition manufacturers began producing an identical round with a "generic" name. The .30WCF cartridge was not introduced until 1895, the second year of production of the Model 1894. The original calibers produced in the Model 1894 were .32/40 and .38/55. sales@countrygunsmith.net
