The main difference is the Taurus has a manual safety and can be carried as a single action gun. The Beretta has a decocker/safety combo, and it cannot be carried in single action mode with the safety engaged.
It depends on the brand. It might stand for "Taurus Handgun" if it's a Taurus. What brand is it?
Several manufacturers offer a .40 handgun - Smith & Wesson, Ruger, Taurus, Beretta, Sig-Sauer, Kel-Tec, Hi Point, Glock, Springfield Armory/HS Produkt... just to name a few.
This question is completely unanswerable. Taurus has made many different 9mm handguns from a full size Beretta 92 clone to a pocket revolver. This description covers 30 or more different guns of different values.
It depends on whether it's new or used and which model. In general, Taurus handguns range between $400 and about $700.
No
The number to Taurus customer service is 305-624-1115.
I was informed by my local gunsmith that the only difference between the two is that the 709B comes with 2 mags while the 709FS only has 1 mag. This is Taurus' way of lowering the cost.
a 540 difference
Don't think so. Taurus PT-92 is based on machining for the Beretta 92SB, which was manufactured for the Brazilian Army (hence the plant that Taurus bought) The modifications since (Beretta making the 92F, Taurus going its own route) have altered the location of the magazine latch within the pistol, so the magazines will probably not line up.Not strictly true. The Taurus 92 (first model) was exactly the same as the first model Beretta 92.....NOT the much later 92SB........other than the hooked trigger guard of the Taurus. The original Beretta 92 had a frame mounted safety a little like that on the 1911 45 auto. The magazine release was mounted down near the very bottom of the left grip. And these two pistols...the Beretta 92 and the Taurus 92...were fully interchangable including magazines. I know....I own examples of both guns. The rest is basically correct.
It is a key operated lock on a Taurus handgun. When the lock is ON, the gun cannot be fired. Go to the Taurus website, and you can see how it works.
