Impossible to answer with the maker's name and the serial number.
It's the caliber of the cartridge it fires.
Good rifle, good caliber for most uses. Did you have a specific question?
Uses .277 bullets
270
The .270 has MUCH more energy than the 30-30.
100-500 USD
Generally speaking, no. You can only fire the caliber for which the gun is chambered. There are some exceptions, but not many.
In excess of two miles
You have a browning a-bolt rifle chambered in .270 winchester caliber.
Some law enforcement agencies have used the .270 as a sharpshooter's weapon, but it was never military issue.
.270 refers to the caliber of the rifle. It fires a center fire, bottle necked cartridge. The parent cartridge is the 30-06, which is necked down to fire a smaller diameter bullet- .270 instead of .308. A very versatile long range hunting cartridge with moderate recoil. I think every major rifle maker in the US has built guns in this caliber.
