a six guage is the lowest i would go because any guage lower than that u wouldn't even want to shoot it would kick so hard
PS the 6 guage is nicknamed the elephant gun because back in the day that was the only gun that would penetrate elephant skin from a reasonable distance
I don't really think it matters how strong the gun is as long as you hit it in the right spot. I hunt with just a 20 guage, and I've killed quite a few deer.
Deer slugs are the shotgun shells to use when deer hunting.

NO. You need to use a bow to get the most meat out of it.NO. You need to use a bow to get the most meat out of it.YES. there are 500,000 deer hunters who would choose a shotgun over a bow
any high power rifle will do the job some have there favorites to use but any rifle will work, you could use a shotgun or bow also but most people use rifles
The power of a shotgun versus a rifle largely depends on the context of their use and the specific ammunition involved. Generally, rifles are more powerful due to their design, which allows for higher velocity projectiles and greater accuracy over long distances. Shotguns, on the other hand, fire multiple pellets or a single slug, making them effective at close range but less powerful in terms of projectile energy compared to most rifles. Ultimately, the choice between the two depends on the intended application, such as hunting or self-defense.
Only when you need aiming. Which is mostly never. Roe deer hunting in Scandinavia or Turkey hunting in the US might be examples of exceptions.
One not designed for use with steel shot.
