EIG is the importer, they imported a lot of firearms from different manufacturers in the 1950s and 1960s. They do not have a lot of value, usually around $100.
Usually caliber and/or serial numbers.
The numbers .308 are the caliber of your rifle, not the model number. Please include the model number and serial number to get the age of your Winchester rifle.
Double check the serial numbers. No 1873 sn has a "b" at the end.
The first 2 numbers of your serial number indicate when it was made.In this case your Marlin rifle was made in the year 1971.
Virtually impossible to determine caliber by just the serial number.
You will need the services of a good gunsmith.
Basically impossible to do with just the serial number.
