What is the meaning of Value to you? Is it money or functionality/dependability? Maybe a little of both?
For the money its an excellent gun. I own the 12 ga model and am quite happy with it. It seems to be built like a Russian tank with a strong action and very similar in design to the Browning action. The oiled walnut stock and nickel action is nice but has no inlays or scrolling of birds or dogs on the metal surface but I can hit what I shoot at and have trust that it will function for many more years to come. I paid under $500 for my Spartan as couldn't afford the $3500.00 Browning. But I know that I can shoot beside anyone with a Browning and score the same amount of hits on the trap range. It is light enough to be brought up to the shoulder with ease but heavy enough to follow through on swinging shots. When I bring it up to shoulder it automaticly is in position for shooting for me. Up until now I have mostly shot side by side doubles. But this could very well become my favorite.
One drawback or regret with the gun is that it has poor quality chokes. If you shoot a lot of steel shot, it will more than likely destroy your factory chokes. But I do mostly sport shooting with lead so no worries for me. Would I like to have a Browning? yes, but for what I can afford, I have a very nice gun. Its made to last, and its made well. I like it.
