There is no such rifle, the Winchester Model 88 is a highly collectible lever action center fire rifle available in .243, .284, .308, and .358.
$600-$800 in original condition. The 284 chambering could bring a premium of $1200.
the 284 win caliber was introduced to the model 88 in 1963 and made until 1973.the total production for the model 88 was 284,000 units. With that said the 284 cal was the most rare! and does demand a premium.at this time I do not possess the production numbers in 284 win.caliber.
There is no Winchester Model 77 in .284. The Model 77 is a .22 rimfire. The .284 Winchester is a centerfire cartridge made for the Models 88 and 100 in the early 1960's. It is interesting for having a relatively rare rebated rim (that's alliterative!) and continues to be popular with custom rifle makers because it offers power in a short case and action. Ruger made a few Model 77's in .284. Maybe that's what you have. Rod Smith Bethesda MD
