Is a modified choke equal to a quarter choke?

A modified choke is not exactly the same as a quarter choke, though they are similar. A modified choke provides a wider shot spread than a quarter choke, typically allowing for more shot dispersion at moderate ranges. While both are used for various shooting applications, the modified choke is generally considered to be more versatile for hunting and sport shooting.

Is skeet choke more restricted than cylinder choke?

Yes, skeet choke is more restricted than cylinder choke. A cylinder choke has no constriction, allowing for a wide spread of shot, while a skeet choke has a slight constriction that helps improve shot density and accuracy at short ranges. This makes skeet choke more effective for shooting at fast-moving targets like clay pigeons in skeet shooting.

What is a modified rem choke?

A modified Rem choke is a type of shotgun choke designed to constrict the shot pattern for improved accuracy at medium ranges. It typically provides a tighter shot spread than a standard choke, making it suitable for various shooting applications, including hunting and target shooting. The "modified" designation indicates that it offers a balance between open and full chokes, allowing for versatility in different shooting scenarios.

Can you shoot 00 buck shot out of any choke tube?

Yes, you can fire buck thru any type choke. However this does not mean it will work better, as smaller shots do. It is very easy to over-choke buckshot. Most smaller shot does not have as much of a problem as with 00 buck. As the shot goes through the choke "if too tight" the shot smashes into each other and the barrel and deforms the round shot, with flat edges. This can give you a "card" reaction. If you flip a card through the air you will see it doesn't fly straight but flips all over. This is what happens to over-chocked 00 to a lesser extent. Some chokes are even dangerous with 00 buck. Take a 90% Turkey choke. This could blow the end of your barrel off. Talk to every manufacture out there and they will tell you modified choke is recommended for 00. With smaller buck you may be able to tighten up a bit.. but you will not get a better pattern. At 50 yards on a modified choke with 00 you will get 1 or 2 pellets. Smaller shot will grant more.

Should you use improve cylinder or modified to hunt deer?

if your are shooting buck shot i think either should work fine however if you are shooting slugs choke tubes are not recommended and you shout get a slug barrel which does no accept choke tubes and has no threads

Can you shoot 000 buck in full choke shot gun?

Unless the manufacturer specifically says you can't, call them first.

What shotgun choke provides the tightest shot pattern?

The choke that provides the tightest shot pattern is the "Full" choke. This choke constricts the shotgun's barrel more than others, creating a narrower spread of shot as it exits. As a result, it is ideal for long-range shooting and precise targeting. Full chokes are commonly used in hunting situations where accuracy and distance are crucial.

What is a poly choke?

A poly choke is an adjustable shotgun choke that allows the shooter to modify the spread of shot from a shotgun shell. It consists of a tapered sleeve that can be rotated to change the constriction and, consequently, the pattern of the shot as it exits the barrel. This versatility enables shooters to adapt to different shooting situations, such as hunting or sport shooting, without needing to change the choke tube. Poly chokes are often favored for their convenience and ease of use.
