ANSWER If anyone finds a gun, I think the best thing to do is handle it a LITTLE as possible, do not show it off to ANYONE, and place it in a paper bag. If you are under 18, bring it to an adult, who should then also not handle it and bring it directly to a police dept... Tell them exactly where and when it was found. It could be an important clue in a robbery or murder, so by handling as little as possible, you may presserve vital evidence (fingerprints). If you are an adult who finds it, basically the same; DON"T show it off, handle it as LITTLE as possible, place it in a paper bag and bring it to a police station. If that is not possible, secure the gun in a safe place, call 911, explain that you found a gun and you would like someone to come and get it. Never point it at anyone, even if you sure it is not loaded. Treat ALL guns as if they are loaded and ready to go off. If need be, write down the exact location where it was found and when it was found. Report it immediately. Tell no one except the police, because people are curious by nature and will want to see it and touch it, and that could be very dangerous. <<<ADR>>>
