Roughly 1900. Since Marlin mixed serial numbers between models on the early levers it can be hard to pin down exactly. As to caliber, look on the top flat of the barrel. sales@countrygunsmith.net
It had to be manufactured between the 1912 patent date and 1915 when the company ceased operations.
Which model, what condition?
The Ranger 101 .14 caliber .22 long rifle was manufactured by the J. C. Higgins division of the Sears, Roebuck and Company. This division produced a variety of firearms and outdoor equipment, often branding them under the Ranger name. The patent number 2094577 relates to a specific design feature of the firearm, emphasizing its unique greased-only smokeless operation.
If I'm not mistaken the gun was manufactured in or around 1904. The caliber 32 WS was not that popular so less we manufactured. I would say it's a nice collectors piece in the neighborhood of $3000 to #3500. See what others have to say but I'm in the ballpark. BMH, AZ
One POSSIBLE maker (you did not give us a lot of info to work from) was Anciens Establishments, Peiper of Herstal, Belgium. If you gun has a small marking of the letters ELG in an oval, that is the prrofmark for Liege, Belgium.
Exactly how is that barrel marked? sales@countrygunsmith.net
