Sears bought the rights to manufacture these guns from Harrington & Richardson,and owned a big chunk of High Standard manufacturing .wich made these guns for Sears (J C Higgins).these guns are known as the J C Higgins model 10. 583 24 was made around 1954. these guns are excellent hunting guns better than a lot of the new stuff . They are vintage classics from your grandfathers time
