The Savage Model 69 RXL Series E was made from 1982 through 1989. The 12ga. debuted in '82 with an 18.24" cylinder bore barrel which will chamber both 2.75 and 3" shells. It has been utilized by many law enforcement agencies and various branches of the military during its production years. It's kind of difficult to break down (see YouTube for disassembly/reassembly videos) and the pump action is single bar which I feel is its biggest drawback - H&R's Pardner or the Maverick/Mossberg model 88, both with dual pump action bars sell for about the same money and to my mind are better ways to go - or even better - find yourself a decent used Remington 870 12ga. and put it together the way you want; every aftermarket and factory part or accessory you can think of is available for that gun and if done right, they rock!
