Manhatten Arms was a trade name used by several manufacturers on shotguns made for the various large catalog and hardware chains around the turn of the 20th century. The fact that yours is hammerless and marked for 'nitro powder' (smokeless powder) indicates manufacture sometime after 1900 but before 1920. Your gun was probably made by the Hunter Arms Co (the same company that made LC Smith shotguns from 1890-1945) for a major New York hardware/catalog store. As to value, condition and originality are most important. An excellent original example might bring $400 from an LC Smith collector.
This should be a Lewis model, made in 1902.

The value of a 20 gauge Ithaca hammerless double barrel side by side shotgun, particularly with serial number 205315 and engraved with "smokeless powder steel" and "bird dog on point," can vary significantly based on its condition, originality, and market demand. Generally, prices for such shotguns can range from $800 to over $2,000. For a more accurate valuation, it’s recommended to consult a firearms appraiser or check recent sales of comparable models.
I HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING THE VERY SAME QUESTION AND I HAVE FOUND THAT IS RANGES FROM $75-$125 DEPENDING ON THE CONDITION OF THE FIREARM
There are other markings on the gun, somewhere.
NO, not safely anyway. the black powder guns use a much larger barrel pivot pin that their firearm counterparts. to switch from the black powder to accept a 410 barrel you would have to drill out the pivot pin hole on the .410 barrel to accept the larger pin, the black powder barrel support arm is thicker, to account for this....the .410 barrel support arm will become to thin from the drilling making it prone to creak or break.... need anything leinad related? guns, parts, kits, pictures, advice? contact me. xthexheadx@gmail.com
SN 1-2247 were made in 1885. Please note that date is from the era of BLACK POWDER. Modern smokeless powder shells should NOT be fired. Also 16 g shells were shorter than current 16 g shells. Please have your gun examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting ANYTHING in it.
$50-$75 if it is a single shot, $150-$250 if it is a double barrel.
Depends on the size of the barrel.
How would load your powder and ball down the barrel ram it down to make sure it's tight in the barrel then you would put powder in the pan when the flint hits the metal it creates a spark lighting the powder in the pan then lighting the powder in the barrel making it fire.
