Today's A&F has nothing to do with the original Abercrombie and Fitch. The real A&F, the famed safari outfitter, went into bankruptcy in 1977, and with it their famed branded firearms. The rights to the company name were bought by some company around 1980 which re-branded A&F into a yuppie brand.
