Your 1911 pistol was made by Remington Rand in 1944. Your slide is probably marked Colt. however, the serial number denotes the gun manufacturer. Often when cleaning several 1911 pistols the parts are mixed when put back together as with putting a Colt slide on a Remington Rand frame.
