Look for a two digit code on the underside of the slide near the muzzle. You'll find a two digit German proof code. Letter "A" is Zero. Letter "B" is One etc. For example code KB was proofed in 1991. You can also remove one the original plastic grips and see a month and year code when the grips were molded. These methods will get you close to the year of manufacture as these pistols sold quickly after proofing.
