Browning made .22 rifles AND pistols- you did not tell us what you have. The Browning website, customer service, has historical data for many Browning firearms by serial number. See if your model is listed. If not email Browning.
The current Browning Buck Mark 22 LR pistols ( 2008 ) are built in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The Browning website, under customer Service, has date-of-manufacture by serial number for many of the model firearms that they made. However, you did not tell us the model- and Browning made rifles, shotguns, and pistols- so we can't even guess at what you have- but find the model, and visit their website. Your Browning was made in 1990
FN made guns for Browning, not the other way around. In the 90s, FN bought out Browning (Herstal Group), so you may be referring to that. The only guns Browning made in the US are, the Challenger II and currently make Buck Mark Pistols and rifles. Also, Remington made Auto 5s for Browning in the USA during WWII
Older and generally better made.
It depends on the model. Most are made in Japan. High end shotguns are still made in Belgium for custom orders. Some pistols are made in Belgium and assembled in Portugal.
Browning made the first sucessful semi auto shotgun over 100 years ago, along with semi auto rifles (BAR from WW 1) pistols (Browning Hi Power from 1935) and machine guns (.50 caliber Browning)
