Sorry- that is a serial number, and conveys no information. If the barrel is not marked, you need to take it to a gunsmith who will measure the chamber- not only for gauge, but for the correct shell length. Just because an unfired shell fits does not mean it is the correct shell. And it is not a rifle, but a shotgun.
The Riverside Arms Company was known for producing affordable shotguns, primarily in the early to mid-20th century. A Riverside Arms 12 gauge single barrel shotgun with serial number 482HL likely dates back to the 1930s or 1940s. Riverside shotguns were often made for the Western Auto Supply Company and are recognized for their reliability as utility firearms. For an exact age and more detailed history, consulting a firearms expert or reference for Riverside firearms would be necessary.
It is a Stevens gun, general utility type shotgun. Value around $200 in good condition. sales@countrygunsmith.net
when was the carolina arms 16 gauge single barrel shotgun made
The value of a 16 gauge single shot shotgun made by Riverside Arms can vary significantly based on its condition, age, and any unique features. Generally, these shotguns may range from $150 to $400, with well-maintained or rare models potentially fetching higher prices. It's advisable to consult recent sales or a firearms appraiser for a more precise valuation.
A SxS in useable but not like-new condition will bring between $100 and $250. A 20 gauge or .410 will be in the mid to upper part of that range and a 12 or 16 gauge in the lower to middle part.
