These were very well made shotguns and one of the best bolt action shotguns one the market 20 gauge is also a very popula and usefull gauge If your shotgun is in good or better condition and shootable its worth $125 bucks or more depending on who wants it
The J C Higgins Model 20 was made by Sears / High Standard . Sears owned High Standard in those days. .Sears also held all the rights to manufacture it . It is a true Sears gun. It was the No.1 selling pump action in the 50's try Numrich gun parts West Hurley NY. That is a High Standard Model 200
Both were High Standard Flite King shotguns. They are similar, but from different time periods. Very nice shotguns, not very pricey.

JC Higgins Model 20Early 1960's, around 1964.From another FAQ Farmer: 1962 the model 20 pump shotgun was made from 1947 to 1962 under the JC. Higgins brand wich was owned by Sears . The guns were made by High standard manufacturing co. Sears owned abought 25 % of High standard From 1962 on they were sold under the Sears name until 1968 .High Standard also sold under their name High standard model K100 Flite King.Both the k100 and the model 20 are excellent shotguns well made of the high quality and one of if not the smoothest pump action shotguns made High standard made some of the finest guns .
The 12 g pump shotgun sold by Sears was made by the High Standard Company, and is a Flite King. These are worth $85-150, depending on condition. The number you listed is NOT the serial number, but the Sears model number. These shotguns were made prior to the 1968 Gun Control Act, and do not HAVE a serial number- they were not required by law on shotguns until the above law went into effect. Good hunting shotgun, though.
Proofhouse.com has a store brand chart. Ranger was a name that Sears branded on firearms made for them by other companies. Sears Ranger O/U shotguns were made by Marlin. When introduced in 1937 and prior to WWII Sears used the Ranger name and JC HIggins after the war. They were sold by Marlin as the Model 90. The 103 was used by Sears to designate guns made by Marlin with the number after a period or dash indicating the particular model.
