I bought a Ranger 22 LR when I was in the Air Force, in Lubbock, Tx. The rifle shoots straight and there were no serial number or model number.
I called around to every manufacturer in 1989 and Winchester Arms told me to contact Marlin, which I did.
The lady from Marlin said the rifles were made by Marlin for sale by Sears, Roebuck &Co. from the 1920's-1960.
Assuming you have the same style as mine, the rear sight is a dove-tail sight that can be adjusted vertically with a notched ramp.
I have a Ranger 22 LR rifle. Ranger is only on the barrel. Nothing else. I was told it may have been made by J Stevens ????
Most are Marlin What is The # stamped on the Barrel? their are alot of Cross over Charts on the Web Most are Marlin 81-80, that Ihave come across. Most parts interchange except the Stock which has a Strange Trigger Guard.
